Hi
Living life at 6 mph. Motoring through the back country of Georgia where
you may see nothing for hours but marsh grass, to the horizon, and nature.
Beautiful birds of all types. Spending the nights in places you will never hear
of, Shellbine Creek, New Teakettle Creek, Walleys Leg, Kilkenny Creek and
tomorrow night in Moon River. That one you may have heard of, providing you are
over 50.
I spent a couple of extra days in Jacksonville. Saturday I called my
brother and asked him to take me to a hospital because a UTI that I had treated
in Fort Myers was bothering me again. We found a (Baptist) hospital in Jacksonville
Beach and I must say the treatment I received was much better than what I
received in Fort Myers. The doctor explained everything going on, gave me
copies of the lab results so I could follow up and prescribed an adequate dose
of antibiotics to lick the problem. I learned that there is a difference in
hospital care.
I decided to lay over Sunday to make sure I was not going to have a
reaction to the medication and wash the boat. It rained nearly all day Sunday.
I was able to get an early start Monday morning with clear blue skies and mild
temperatures due to the cool front that had just passed.
Our next stopover should be Georgetown South Carolina for fuel,
groceries and rest. Ruby may even get some dock time. She has adjusted to
anchoring and she has learned a new way to sucker me in. Its called cookies for
scratching the carpet.
Last night a storm passed through just after we had anchored. 30 -50 mph
winds and real rain, in buckets. We rode it all out in New Teakettle Creek with
two other boats and since it was still raining this morning slept in and
decided to stay here today and let this front pass. It is starting to clear and
we should have 4 or 5 days of good traveling weather ahead of us.
