Hello from Spa Creek in beautiful downtown Annapolis. Isabel is on her way and hopefully we are ready. I had anchored out in Spa Creek which is situated in and among the city of Annapolis. There is a condominium complex that myself and several others had anchored in front of since the buildings sit high up and with the trees around them offer some additional protection. Seems the dockmaster for the marina attached to the complex was concerned that we may drag down into the marina so he offered us one of the empty slips in the marina. I mulled it over since I had already set my anchors for the storm and being in a slip offers additional problems with tidal surge and wind direction that you don't have at anchor. I talked it over with my crew and Ruby over ruled me and we went into the Marina. She wasted no time getting off the boat and digging her claws into the dock. She also was eyeing the large grassy area that runs the length of the marina, behind us.

Whether it was a good decision or not we are here now. They have reduced our warnings in the northern bay to tropical storm and we hopefully are looking at winds in the 40 -50 mph range max and some heavy rain. I plan to stay on the boat but if things go to hell in a hand basket I can now just step ashore and

head for shelter.

It doesn't look so good for Tom and the Portsmouth crew. They are going to be right in the thick of it. I talked to Tom tonight and they are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. About all you can do until the thing passes.

We will let you know as soon as it passes and every thing is ok. I have been having some problems getting on line, I guess everybody is on their cell phones calling family and keeping in touch.
