Hello from Spa Creek in beautiful downtown Annapolis.
I just returned from checking my lines. The tidal surge is starting to push in to the creek and the water is at the top of the docks. We still have about 2 hours till high tide. But we are looking pretty good. I've
got 17 lines attached in one manner or another and Emma (the dink) is tied off the bow with her umbilical cord attached to Papillon. From the inside of the boat I can see the light on the bilge pump panel kick on
and off to let me know that she is not drowning and her pump is pumping.
This is high tech stuff we are dealing with here.
Ruby just went and set out in the cockpit for a breath of fresh air. We are currently in a lull with the rain and just have a little wind. The winds are starting to clock around to the East and will eventually go to the Southeast as the storm passes in about 4 hours. That is a good thing because our Southeast is protected by the condo's and their high banks. The wind howls overhead and we sit here and just sort of rock back and forth with an occasional jab on the nose.
Pretty amazing also that in the middle of the storm I can sit here and check the weather online and send you all this update. Really a big difference from when I was out before.
I've been monitoring the radio and there have been several reports of boats adrift. From what I can determine it sounds like most of them have been anchored in creeks off the Severn River or down the Bay.
I just updated the web page with pictures of Spa Creek and the chart. Just click on the link below.
