Back in
Beaufort, SC. Spent Sunday night
in Whiteside Creek just north of
Charleston, SC. The waters in the creek
were flat
calm and except for the gentle slap from the 2+ knots of current I would not
have known I was on the water. Up early enough in the morning to sit with a cup
of coffee and my thoughts to watch the sun come up.

Soon we were
underway for Charleston and I had finally decided to stay over in Charleston.
But, first I decided to get an update on the weather. Current conditions can be
deceiving as we know.
Especially
since I had remembered something about another cold front heading our way. The
weather report was an eye opener.Tuesday night and Wednesday Gale force winds
over Charleston Harbor with heavy rain and possible tornados, hail etc.
Charleston
Harbor is open to the Atlantic Ocean and in my opinion not the best place to
ride out 6+ hours of
severe
weather. So I placed a call to Beaufort City Marina, and reserved a slip to
make sure I could get in and with two days to travel before the weather hits,
headed for Beaufort.I was not alone. There are about 40 boats here all to ride
out the front. Many of the boats have shared anchorages with me along the way.
We will stay
here at least until Thursday and then continue our passage south.
