Ruby and I have been clicking off the miles the last couple of days in an effort to get to Jacksonville and squeeze into Whitleys Marina while they have an open slip. We spent a night in Melbourne anchored off of what is left of the Dragon. A concrete structure built probably 20+ years ago at the tip of Merritt Island where it enters the Banana River. From there we traveled to Titusville, home of the space center, which is still quiet. We had time for a nap as the bridge outside Titusville was locked down for three hours for maintenance. We got there about a hour before the opening. Today we made the mad run through Daytona Beach. You would never know that the gas prices were high? There were hundreds of boats out running up and down the river. Fortunately the anchorage area, in north Daytona Beach, is in a Manatee Zone, 5 mph, so the boats stay out of this area or at least can't go fast enough to make a wake. Tomorrow we head to St Augustine and hopefully Monday make Jacksonville.
