N 35¡ 54.36 W 76¡ 01.75 We have departed Bath, NC and just before reaching the Alligator River Bridge got drenched and tossed around by a fast moving thunderstorm. That eased the decision to duck into the Alligator River Marina. That and the forecast for 15-20 knot winds out of the Northeast for today. Not a good time to be going across Albemarle Sound. So we will wait and head out Monday with E-SE winds of 10 knots.

Meet a young couple while here from Urbana, Va, Will and Nancy. They are in the process of moving a 40 year old wooden boat, from Beaufort SC, to Deltaville, VA, that belonged to Nancy's father. I helped them do some engine repairs and was treated to lunch at the Alligator River Marina Texaco station. I have to admit the food is pretty good here. As usual they became instant friends with Ruby. She has a way of making people feel welcome aboard Papillon. We should be in Elizabeth City, NC tomorrow and hopefully able to use the cell phone once again, hopefully.
