We made it to Beaufort, SC on Thursday just ahead
of a breezy cold front. When I pulled into the dock at the downtown marina I
had 20+ knots of wind and 2 knots of current testing the captains skills.
Actually the skilled dockmaster and his crew really know what they are
doing and made it easy. Of course I get the usual, " I don't see how
you handle this boat by yourself". They just don't give Ruby any credit.
This place filled up for the front and with so many people roaming
the docks Ruby is hesitant to get off the boat until the darkness of
night provides her cover to sneak around.
We will be laid back and wasted here until Sunday when we
will head out for Georgia and Jacksonville in about a week. They
have a new restaurant here that I tried last night. Bay Breeze Island Grill. My
kind of place with Island music and Jimmy Buffett tunes in the background.
