CA Guitars - Legacy AE -
Rain is an Endorsing Artist for CA Guitars. An improved composite guitar (ie. no more worries with temperature and humidity), this one sounds as great plugged in as it does unplugged!
Not metallic as graphite does naturally, but more like a traditional wooden guitar. It's amazing how full, loud, and clear this guitar sounds!
It has become his full time stage guitar and constantly draws questions and compliments. This model has the Vintage Voicing as well as a top of the line custom designed Fishman
Blender pickup system. It is similar to my other Fishman systems, but the Preamp has more features (notch filter, phase button, sweepable midrange cut and boost, and an onboard TUNER) and
the system combines an under saddle pickup with a nice capsule microphone on an adjustable boom inside of the guitar. Great guitar, great versatility, and a grand le$$ than their competition!
Rainsong JM1000 -
Jumbo 100% carbon fiber graphite acoustic with Fishman Electronics(Blender).
This guitar is his outdoor festival, poolside, boat deck, backyard, campfire, rooftop acoustic.
The carbon fiber body and neck are nearly impervious to temperature and humidity changes so
the action and tuning stay true throughout the show. Many pickers and engineers are VERY
impressed by this guitar's sound!
Takamine EN-20 -
His jumbo is a mahogany back and sides and solid cedar topped acoustic with factory Takamine
saddle pickup and on board EQ. This guitar has been on stage with Rain since 1992 and is
currently on its third re-fret and has a nice hole worn thru the cedar top just below the
treble E string and beside the bridge. Another GREAT sounding and solid acoustic in the
studio and on the stage.
"Key Largo" Dean -
Rain acquired this guitar on his last tour thru the Florida Keys. Amazing inlay work and a very full bodied tone when plugged in!( amazing for a small bodied guitar)
Very flashy on stage and easy to play. The only upgrades are replacing the plastic bridge pins with fossilized walrus tusk/mother of pearl buttoned ones and a strap pin added
behind the neck/heel.
